Overview of Days Gone
Days Gone is an open world third person action/Adventure game developed By Bend studio For Sony Interactive entertainment. The game was released in 2019 and is based in Oregon after a world pandemic has transformed millions of people into zombie like creatures known as Freakers. Players assume the role of Deacon St. John, a post-industrial drifter and hunter with a trusty motorbike riding across the huge dangerous territory in search for sense in a lawless dystopian future.
Thus, the idea is to tell the story that introduces Deacon in order to understand what loss, survival and loyalty means to him. The game merges an appealing narrative with exciting mechanics where Deacon investigates a virus while looking for his wife whom people thought was dead. The friendship between a man & his best friend Boozer extends the story’s themes expressing brotherly love and endurance in the face of adversity. You may also like: Lonely Christmas
The game combines stealth elements, physical combat and platforming will be included to provide a nice break from any intense moment. Resources have to be looted, the motorcycle improved, and weapons have to be built in order to stand a chance against Freakers and hostile humans. Difficulty is introduced by day-night cycle and dynamic weather: Freakers are more aggressive and appear in greater number when it is dark. We also have the detailed world of game realized with the different types and variations of terrains such as forests, the vast area of discredited towns where our characters will find themselves lost in a number of threats and mysteries.
Days Gone was appreciated for the setting, the character and the storyline as well as the world the game took place in, however it did not go all unscathed with some issues noticed when the game was first released. Ever since then the game has been acclaimed for having a fan base that appreciates dark and post-apocalyptic settings with a meaningful storyline attached to it.
